I am delighted to introduce to you guys my fall assistant, Diana Carter! Diana is a phenomenal soul- the kind that you can have three hour coffee dates with (which we did), who inspires you to love more strongly and cherish moments well. For more of Diana's work pop over to www.dianapalka.com! I am already thankful for her and what she's doing to add to the team in these next few months. We're going to have a blast with our fall wedding season!
I’m Diana Carter, a newlywed New Yorker living in the sweet southern city of Charlotte, NC. I married up – like way, way up – when I married the most gracious and patient mountain man I’ve ever encountered in May. Tyler and I had a quaint little wedding here in Charlotte and even buckets and buckets of rain couldn’t wash away our joy.
I like to think that God had something up His sleeve when He orchestrated a random blind date some two plus years ago. That when He decided to let our worlds collide in a little Charlotte coffee shop, He knew exactly what He was doing (even though we had sweaty palms and no idea what the heck was happening).
That’s how I think God works though. Nudging us and prompting us and stringing us along until one day – BAM! – everything changes. Meeting Tyler was just one of the ridiculous amount of ways He’s done that in my life – and for all of them, I’m eternally grateful.
I decided to submit an application to work with Kelly Renee Weddings because I immediately saw an alignment of our view on weddings and marriage. Like Kelly, my passion for marriage far exceeds my passion for weddings. As a bride, I found myself walking in the tension of wanting our day to accurately represent all the Lord had done in each of our lives leading up to our wedding AND not wanting it to be too over the top, too glitzy, too big.
Without a day-of coordinator who not only understood our vision but intimately grasped what was important to us, I don't think we could've pulled it off. Kelly’s personal commitment to being that very person for her brides is what drew me in. I’d just seen the benefit of that much-needed day-of care and it's that side of the wedding industry – the soul-keeping side of weddings, wedding planning and ultimately, marriage – that pulled me to Kelly Renee Weddings.
Aside from that, I love the fact that weddings bring people together. Tyler and I are not from Charlotte and both of our families live hours and hours away. Being able to pause – if even for a second – during our reception and realize that almost every single person we loved was under one roof? That was a certain kind of joy for both of us.
I’m so excited to be here – so excited to be on board for Kelly’s fall weddings! – and I cannot wait to meet our brides!
